Well Inspections
Florida Environmental Labs is the only private, state-certified drinking water lab in Collier County.  We have been conducting well inspections and testing well water in Naples since 2005.  A thorough home inspection should always include water tests done by a state-certified lab.  If you don't use us, make sure to use a state-certified lab.  We know of no home inspectors that are state certified to conduct well water or drinking water testing.  Florida Environmental Laboratories does all FHA, USDA, VA and other real estate related water testing in-house.  Our lab directory has over 20 years of experience working in laboratories and he would be glad to answer your questions...even if you are not a client.  If someone (a home inspector or water equipment dealer) offers to do water tests for you, ask for their Florida Department of Health certification number and then check it at the following site:

Lead in well water and drinking water: Potentially dangerous and expensive to fix.

Many banks will not loan money on a property with a private well until they know that the well is capable of providing potable, safe drinking water.

Usually the Lead found in well water in the South Florida area comes from the plumbing of the house and not the well itself.

Even homes built in compliance with all building codes, using proper Lead-free soldier can have unsafe levels of Lead in the drinking water. The only way to know for sure if the house you are thinking of buying has safe water is to have a state-certified laboratory test the water using EPA approved methods.

Even if you don't use us, please call us and we can refer you to the state-certified labs in your area.
Bacteria in well water: Potentially dangerous and usually relatively easy to fix.
